Gaia alternatives for kundalini yoga

A lot of people sign up for Gaia for the kundalini yoga, then realise they’re paying for a whole streaming library of documentaries too. If kundalini is what you came for, here are three other ways to learn it, checked on 2026-10-29.

By the Chakra Babe team · Updated

What Gaia does well

  • Video. Its beginner kundalini series is 6 episodes, from a 4-minute intro to 53-minute classes, about three and a half hours in all.
  • Range: its home page says 8,000+ ad-free series and videos, plus yoga and meditation classes for every level.
  • A real free trial: the first 7 days of Monthly or Annual are free.

Why you might look elsewhere

  • It’s $13.99 a month or $119 a year (USD, plus tax), and Gaia+ is $299 a year.
  • Its FAQ says Annual and Gaia+ aren’t refunded for unused time if you cancel.
  • Most of the library isn’t yoga at all, so you’re paying for a lot you may never watch.

1. Glo: yoga classes, kundalini included

Glo is a yoga class library, and its kundalini page lists 12 classes from two teachers. It showed us $30 a month or $245 a year, with a 7-day free trial. Pricier than Gaia, but it’s all classes, not documentaries.

2. Insight Timer: free kundalini meditations

Insight Timer’s kundalini topic lists tracks like sa ta na ma and kirtan kriya meditations from lots of different teachers, mostly short. The app is free to start, with MemberPlus at $59.99 a year for the courses. Great for meditations, less so for a full kriya class.

3. Kundalini for Babes: a one-time kundalini course

Ours, so you know. Kundalini for Babes: 8 lessons, about 106 minutes of practice, $47, paid once, lifetime access, 14-day refund. It goes from what kundalini yoga actually is and how to sit and breathe, through long deep breathing and breath of fire (with a safety box), the spinal warm-up, sat kriya, kirtan kriya and deep relaxation, to a soft 40-day practice. Every lesson has a timer built in. The first lesson is a free sample.

Where we lose: Gaia and Glo have video, so you can copy a teacher’s posture. We have written steps, timers and a pacer. If you’ve never seen sat kriya done, watching a class first is honestly a good idea.

Who should stick with Gaia

  • People who want to follow kundalini classes on video.
  • Anyone who also watches the documentaries and series, so the library is worth it.
  • Gaia+ members who use the event discounts.
